Local = Global

A small, rural library in my neck of the woods was featured on the PLA blog this week. At first, I was quite surprised to see the post. This library has no online presence to speak of, so how on earth did that happen? Easy! They were featured in their local paper, which has an online presence, which got picked up by the PLA bloggers. A wonderful example of how simple local marketing can spread globally so quickly. The line between local and global impact is becoming increasingly blurred. What a great opportunity for rural libraries!

And thanks to the folks at the PLA blog for your library news round-ups. It's great to know that the work in all libraries - even in rural Canada - is noticed and appreciated.
