I am practically drooling over all the useful content here for rural libraries. This is an initiative of the California State Library and is "an online archive of resources to support California's rural public library directors and staff in serving their public mission more efficiently." Even though it is primarily a resource for California libraries, the site does state that the clearinghouse is open to all libraries.
Among some of the goodies found here:
- sample policies
- competency lists
- links to various training opportunities
- links to model projects highlighting best practices
The clearinghouse is searchable, and you can save searches for future reference. You do have to register, but it is very simple (fill in 4 fields and you're done) and free, so don't be put off by that.
